Hi!
I've tried the new 1.5.6 version but it seems to me that Appending AVI segments is not working! It saves only the first segment to the output file. With 1.5.4 the same operations works fine.

After you delete a region of frames, the end offset is set to 0, so that you have to mark the beginning of a frame region with the Home key. This is new behavior. Also, it seems that the last frame of a region is not deleted.

I don't think this is a new behaviour. From what I recall it has always been like that.
Concerning the deleted regions, note that VirtualDub _has_ to start the subsets it keep on a keyframe. So if you cut from frame 100 to 200 and that you have a keyframe at frame 200 then this frame will be kept when saving the file.

Yes, this is new behavior. If you select frames 100 to 200, version 1.5.6 will delete 100 frames, but version 1.5.4 deletes 101 frames. Try it. ;)
Another new behavior I've noticed is that audio skew no longer affects "input playback," only "output playback." For me, this will take some getting used to...

I have Veedubp4 1.5.4 installed along with Virtualdub 1.5.6. This is new behavior. They're all key frames in the source that I'm editing.

I've now done three 2pass encodes with DivX 5.1 and Vdub 1.5.6. I end up with a file that has an audio stream and plays according to Vdub 1.5.6, but BSPlayer, ZoomPlayer, The Core Codec Player give no volume. All I get is hiss if I crank up the volume on my receiver. If I take the very same file and DirectStream Copy it with Vdub, I get volume. I set the audio compression and then for the first pass, set it to no audio. I then set it to Src audio for the 2nd pass.
One file turned out just a little too large. When this happens I usually reencode the audio with 96kbps mp3 rather than 128. Vdub wouldn't let me this time, I had to use 112 rather than 96. Again I get a file with no volume according to the players.
Why did it turn out too large? I set up Vdub's job control with 2 jobs last night. The first src had 154,136 frames, the 2nd 150,811 frames. But both output files had 154,136 frames. Back to 1.5.4

Well, it hasn't to be that complicated.
I simply open file 1.avi (900 frames). Then select from menu Append AVI segment and open 2.avi (900 frames). Set Audio/Video to Direct Stream Copy and then Save As AVI... What is wrong here that VDub 1.5.6 saves only the first segment e.g. 1.avi part? The other weird thing is that before saving to AVI the 'joined' files if I choose File Information from the File menu - it reports that there are 1800 frames (2*900) - correct. But if I move to end of file - Ctrl + Right - VDub 1.5.6 moves to frame 900 (wrong) and VDub 1.5.4 - to frame 1800.. So back to 1.5.4
