Too Big Of File for DVD+R

I have two 700 mb files of MPEG-3 (DivX) that I want to convert while keeping its DVD picture to MPEG so I can burn it on a DVD+R disc. Any reccomendation of settings and such?

Also, can somebody post how to make optional subtitles when burning a DVD?

You might want to read some of the guides here abouts and post again. As it stands your original post is - er - confused as two 700MB files are not too big for a DVD-R.
