Just upgraded from my old NvidiaGF2 to a Radeon9200-VIVO...
But I am not able to capture with it...
The input pic looks a bit distorted/flickering !!!
Drivers etc. are up to date...
Have also read about this marcovision-bug for PAL stuff...
Ive downloaded iuvcr as mentioned to do this "jump start", but with no luck !
Has anyone a better Idea ???

OK ! The marcovision problem is gone ! :D
But now theres a new problem... :(
The capture preview (and the capture itself) looks still distored...
A black flickering bar at the top, and the rest of the picture is messed up (some sort of banded) !
After capture and reboot the output skips to TV-out, and I see only a black screen... Have to plug my TV in to change back to my monitor !
Don't know why this happens...
I used VDub and iuvcr to capture from my camcorder...
My system: Latest ATI drivers (+ mv remove ;)), WinMe, DX9b !!!
Someone can help me with this... ??? :(

How good is the source quality? I've seen material so unstable that it activates the MacroVision, even when it doesn't have it. You might need a hardware video stabilizer to make a clean grab.
As to bugs, after using a GeForce you'll take a while to get used to ATI's bug-ridden Windows drivers. I got rid of my ATI because I couldn't take the crashes and weird problems that never got fixed. Ironically enough, I bought a GeForce. I haven't had a problem since removing my old Radeon card. Seriously, the ATI drivers would crash my text-editor under certain conditions. My brother had the same experience with ATI. Your problems don't surprise me at all.
As for the TV problem - after doing a grab, check to see if the TV out has been set. If so, turn it off before rebooting. Maybe you can set your desktop res/depth to make sure Windows knows what your preferences are. A pain for certain, but it might be what you have to do until the bug is fixed. Be sure to search ATIs pages to see if anyone else has reported this. It might be a known problem.

Here's an article about the new ATI drivers:

:p
I love how ATI blames MS for unstable drivers when other cards don't have this trouble. Sounds more like they have a fundamental design flaw in their drivers. They should go back to square-one and start fresh.
Seriously, if I "cured" a freeze by having a watch-dog timer reset the card when it thought it was frozen, I'd be laughed out the building. :D

That would be a good idea. One way shady dealers have of fooling people into buying a worse TV is to use a good short cable with the "bad" TV so that it's picture is okay, then use a hundred feet of cable rolled up in back of the set where you can't see it for the "good" TV.
I thought this TV was better?
Just look at that crappy picture! I'll show you a BETTER TV! Of course, it costs a little more...
Moral - use the shortest cable you can. Use good connectors when you can. Use an external video stabilizer when you can. :)
