Hope one of u could help me out..

I have tried to rip World cup 2002 football DVD for 2 CDs but the quality was not good- a bit blocky but obviously because it was high motion and action all thoughout...I wonder what best settings recommended for this kinds (sports)?

For your information I used:

# DEINTERLACING (1)
FieldDeinterlace()
# RESIZING
LanczosResize(512,384)
Convolution3d("moviehq")

I used HVS best matrix and quantization limit to 2,4,2,8. I used Kopei's stable xvid.

I'd appreciate it if any of you could recommend the settings for this kinds?

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum. First of all, I don't see any reason to cap quantizers, especially with a stable build. to improve your quality I'd recommend upgrading to an 'unstable' version, using bframes, vhq, and qpel, and most settings at default, especially quantizer limits. See the newbie settings sticky for more info. With that low of a resolution , you should definitely have good quality with two cds - and then some. Those quantizer caps could be causing a problem there. hth,

I would put the cap at 2/4 2/6 to get rid of blockiness problems. xvid likes give high motion scenes high quants, so cap it lower to stop it from giving those scenes the quants that become visibly blocky.

And use hvs good instead of best.
