Hi,
I'm encoding some home footage at 1670kps with the DivX 5.1 codec, and have resized the footage from 720x540 (i think its that) to 528 x 400 to provide good quality. What resize option should i use:
Bilinear (very soft)
Bicubic (soft)
Bicubic (normal)
Bicubic (sharp)

-Also what pyschovisual enhancement should I use - Fast or slow?

And what preprocessing setting should it be on?
light
normal
strong
or extreme

Personally if the 'home footage' you are talking about is from a PAL DV camera, I would not resize it at all. I would keep it at its original 4:3 'anamorphic' pixel image frame size of 720x576.

I also would not bother using any PSY, Bi-Di or GMC options when encoding above 1500kbps.

If you were an NTSC user, you could have had the option of resizing your encode to 640x480, which is a 'true' 4:3 frame size.

However, if us PAL users wanted to create a 'true' PAL 4:3 frame size (while retaining all the vertical resolution), it would mean resizing to 768x576. Don't get me wrong, such a frame size would play fine via a PC. But if you burned your creation onto an CD-R and tried to view it via a DivX capable stand-alone player, the chances are it would not play!

Cheers
