Hey, I'm having trouble capturing with Virtualdub or Fly something (I'm at work, I forget the name of it, I'm sure you do). Here are my specs;

Windows XP
Nvidia Geforce4 Ti 4200 with vivo
1.08 vivo drivers

The vivo drivers aren't the latest, but I've gotten this working before and these were the only ones that did it properly, more recent versions would cause black lines to appear in the capture and screw the image up.

Anyway, my problem is that the drivers installed fine, but both programs think something else is using the capturing device and as a result can't access it. In device manager everything looks fine, and I have nothing loading up in the startup section of msconfig. What else can I try doing to get this to work? Thanks.

You can jump-start it with iuVCR, load up iuVCR and make it preview, then VirtualDub will capture fine, you need to do this before capping after every restart, there must be a more permenant soloution but noone has said it yet.

Update your VIVO WDM drivers, we are at (I am at) 1.22 but it does still have that problem, but resolves a lot of issues under xp I think (better preformance sync). Rule, latest drivers are generally very healthy and better.

good to see other people are using these to cap.

mine's a gainward 650xp, and it gives, imo, excellent results.

i beenn using it on S-Video from my SKY Box, results are the best of any device I have seen, but the jumpstart issue, is an issue:)

I know a lot of Brit's are using it, the europeans have gone much more for the BT based cards, maybe this is cos VIVO is strapped on for free, or cos capturing isn't a big issue in computing over here, we have some of the largest population of well-tuned computers in the world, hence www.overclockers.co.uk but capturing just aint as important, this is probably cos sky just plays everything to death, but I cant wait for the harry on the boat re-run, I just no NOONE else who watched it.

I really don't know about the jumpstarting, because i capture with iuvcr, nothing else.

jump starting is no problem, I'm doing this to get still shots from a camcorder anyway, I'll try that out. While the 1.22 drivers may be better, that black line problem was way too prominent when I tried it before. Hmm, maybe if I install them then install the 1.08's ontop of that good things might happen. Come to think of it, that could be what I did before.

I have the same card. You probably installed the capture program (that comes with the nvidia CD), I forgot the name.

What I did to solve it: open that capture program => go to the analog video preview => close program => open vdub => capture AVI => etc.
Since I have a new mobo, and I had to reinstall everything, I didn't install that capture program. Of course the problem was gone :)

In some other thread it was suggested to delete some registry settings. But that didn't work for me :(

I have installed only 3rd party programs +drivers (dub/iuvcr and wdm 1.22) and experience the same problems
