View Full Version : Occasional Audio Sync problems

Hello all. This is my first time posting to this forum. I have encoded dozens of Divx movies so far, and a few of them have severe audio sync problems. It is not consistent, probably less than six movies total, but when it happens, there seems to be no way to sync the audio. I can use Nandub or VirtualDub to recombine the audio using a variety of delays and the audio might be in sync for one part of the movie, but not another. I can never seem to find the right delay to obtain sync for the whole movie, so obviously there is a different problem in play here.

Some of the movies that I have encounter problems are Serving Sara, Unusual Suspects and Head of State. I have tried some other audio sync tools, but they focus presenting the immediate effect of a delay, but it seems like there is another underlying problem.

Does anyone have some suggestions on what else to try.

I am using Gordian Knot 28.5 and Divx 5.05 on a P4/2.4ghz system with WinXP

Thanks

Dave

I am using the default programs that install with Gordian Knot. I think BeSweet is used to encode the audio. I set the audio to 128 vbr. I am not familiar with LAME. Are you suggesting this might be the cause (if I were using it) or fix to the problem I am seeing?

Thanks for your reply
