need advice for good sound card for recording

Hey all,

please advice what quality sound card should i buy for Dell 2.0 GHz workstation that wouldn't break bank. I'm only interested in quality recording (from line and mic.) and don't care about any outputs (like 5.1 etc.) i'm using stereo built-in speakers or a pair of quality stereo phones for monitoring of my recordings.

I'd suggest checking with the guys at www.avsforums.com . It's a home theatre forum, but those guys are fanatical about quality.
