Chapter missing

I'm using drdivx to encode vob file that has chapters. The avi file generated doesn't have the chapter anymore. How can I keep it or how can I add the chapters again ?

Are you missing a chapter, or are you talking about the loss of chapter functionality as in a DVD?

If it's the latter, afaik you can't do chapters with an AVI on its own. I'm sure there are programs out there that let you do it artificially (and superficially) but an AVI is just a stream of video data with a stream or two of audio data. DVDs have their own file format that can support chapters.
