This bug is easily, should be, reproduced..
software:
VirtualDub mod 1.5x (probably any VD version)
Divx 5.1 pro
Avisynth 2.5
Hardware:
Not important since this has happend to me on two seperate computers (completely different hardware, and i think, or rather KNOW its part of the codecs fault.
Symptom....
Divx5.1 will OVERWRIGHT a MV file that was done on a 1st pass... if you do a single pass imdiatly after the 1st pass.. rendering a job in VD doomed to error...
DETAILS:
I like to encode my movies in slices.. the intro the main movie(maybe as much as 4 parts--depending on length) the credits(multi part if need be). I do the lower bitrate sh*t as just a single pass (credits at about 100kbitsps) . If i get crazy and tell virtual dub to stop after a first pass of the main movie and then decide to do one of the single pass encodings imdiatly afterwards then it will muck up the MV file from the 1st pass. I noticed that the "write to mv file is not check'd but that the file that was mucked up is in the greyed out box.(it dont touch the log file though...which can save my arse..) then i have to make a new job for the second pass and past in the section of film i want ot encode in the virtualdub.jobs file... not a BIG problem .. but annoying. For nEWBIES this is a gigantic problem......
