Which components to install?

I only use DivX 5 and I do not use any subtitles.

In order to avoid installing unnecessary software on my computer, which components do I NOT have to install?

This is just a guess, but you won't need other codecs (XviD, HuffYUV, DivX 3.11), and as to applications, you won't need VobSub for subtitles, and you won't need Nandub for DivX 3.11 encoding.

I would install the rest ... because you will still need Gknot, AviSynth, AviSynth plugins such as DeComb, VdubMod, AviMux, BeSweet, DVD2AVI, DVD Decrypter. R4R is optional, you could get away without it if you run DVD Decrypter and DVD2AVI manually. R4R also has the ability to use ChapterXtractor, so that's yet another tool you might want to keep.
