I don't thinck Nandub correctly muxes AC3. Try VirtualDubMod or AviMux.
From memory, AviMux is pretty self explanatory, in VDubMod, open the video file, click Strems-Stream List-Add and select youa AC3 track.

strange , i thought that NunDub is specialy for "gluing"
sound back to the avi, i just don't know how/what is the proper
inteleaving , some say it's 64ms and others 96ms , so which one
is it and how/which program do i use?
tnx

Yes, you are right about Nandub, it does include muxing ("gluing") of audio and video, however, I believe that the AC3 feature had a bug which was never repaired.
My advice is to use AviMux and keep default values.
Cheers, Beastie.
