No Audio in MediaPlayer (I do have audio codecs installed)

I've ripped a dvd to avi using version GK 28.5 via DivX5. I've done the audio as vbr mp3 and the Queue and Logs show it encoding and muxing the audio into the movie.

When I play it in MediaPlayer there is not any audio. If I drag the MP3 that was created during the process onto MediaPlayer I hear it just fine.

I've used GSpot to verify the final avi file and it says I have 4 codecs for the video, and 2 for the audio.

Why can't I hear the audio when I'm playing the avi file? Any idea what I did wrong?

I'm sure its something silly.. If any more info is needed, please let me know and I'll get that info here asap.

have you tried manually muxing the audio and video?
maybe by some fluke chance something went wrong with the automation.

Did you try rendering video file there? You might be missing some dshow filters...

Hm, I uninstalled everything, then re-installed everything and tried again and now it works. <shrug>
