I have an MPEG file that Windows will play and DivX Player will play but TMPGEnc says is an illegal video stream. Could it be MPEG4? If so how do I tell? If it is, is there a way to install an MPEG4 codec into TMPGEnc? Or, is a transcoder available that will handle this file? I want to burn it on DVD so I need to convert it to MPEG2.

Illegal stream was the message I got in Plus. TMPGEnc transcoder said "cannot be opened or unsupported".

Whenever I get this message I use DVD2AVI and run the d2v project through the encoder. I just remux the audio back in later.
