I used to have:
PowerDVD4
SPDIF passthru

I can watch DVD using PowerDVD with DD5.1, and Divx w/ DD5.1 also.

However, I just upgraded to PowerDVD5.

Now, when I watch DVD using PowerDVD, I still get DD5.1 thru SPDIF.
But when I watch Divx, I only get stereo.

While Divx is playing in Zoomplayer, I right click and select Filter Properties. I see InterVideo Audio Decoder (iviaudio)is being used. Then I selected it and open the Properties. The Audio Channels has 2 Speaker mode selected. Duh!

So I changed it to Enable S/PDIF output. Then click Apply. Now there is no sound at all. After I quit zoomplayer and start it again, it goes back to stereo. And when I check the audio filter again, it was set back to 2 speakers.

I remember reading something about changing PowerDVD registry to let 3rd party to use SPDIF?

Anyhow can help?

ok, I just realized that the InterVideo Audio Decoder was in my GraphEdit folder and is year 1999. Don't know why it was there.

Anyhow I unregistered it, and now Zoom player complain InterVideo Audio filter not there and now there is no sound
