can anybody help me told to use gordian knot to take an avi file & expand it out to DVD size basically i think its reencoding mpeg4 to mpeg 2 i think can this be done and how

Hi and welcome to the forum-

But I don't know if you'll be here in the GKnot forum for long, as you can't encode to MPEG2 through GKnot. Your best bet is DVD2SVCD.

Here's Doom9's AVI2DVD Guide (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/avi2dvdr.htm) using CCE as the encoder. And if you have that software, then you can use DVD2SVCD as a front end for it .
