Aha!
I had the same problem since I changed from Oidio codec to AC3filter, but I haven't checked the 5.1, 4.1, 4, 2.1, ... etc settings.
thx for the tip, maybe it helps!

I've might been a bit unclear. IF i change from 2.1 to 2.0 it works. But i do have a separate subwofer, so i dont know why it should not work with 2.1 but it doesnt....

This is the specification of most of analoge 2.1speakers systems.
The 0."1" in 2.1 systems is like an electronic filter arrangement. The 0.1 part is a seperate amplifier which filters out the lowband signal and rest of the signal is fed to stereo speakers. The condition is same if u have a 4.1 souncard as no direct output to Subwoofer is shown in output panel,it is via the amplifier in ur subwoofer. Thus the 0.1 has no particular relevance in using 2.1 systems.u can increase the bass instead of trying the 2.1.If u don't understand this:try this => The 2.1 systems usually have 3 amps. Two for satellite/stereo speakers and one for Subwoofer. The Subwoofer amp cuts the lowfrequency signal from the input stereo signal and downmix to mono -> amplifies ->fed the output through the subwoofer. The original input is really amplified by the other two amplifier. So if u notice the 2.0 and 2.1 differs in only the low frequency signal coming out of ur sound card. Thus the sound with 2.0 will be having less bass than 2.1.

I got a 5.1 system, thats connected thorugh spdif to one computer and then the same system is conneted toanother computer though the digital din connector that follows the creative standards. I set the system to 2.1 and it doesnt work but the digital DIN does have a separte signal for the .1

Sorry digital systems i don't know. But the digital like voice has came across by me when i tried to change my 4.0 quadro settings to 5.1LFE.[bt i don't have 5.1 output]
I use Creative SBlive value 4.1 sound card without Subwoofer.(in analoge mode)
another suggesstion:Tried to change the audio renderer[ac3 config>systemtab] into wavout?

Hey trdfan4583, I had the same problem on AC3 movies where the video and audio were way out of sync.Just install reclock (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/ReClock.1.1.dist.bin.zip) and it should fix everything.
btw, you doom9 guys might want to make a note of this because I get a lot of questions about the ac3 filter and the spdif sync problem.

There a sofware called Easy Video Spliter that can match the sound correctly with movies,so you guys/gurls dont have to work with SVCD2VCD to waste like 2 hour or have to fix this and fix that to make the video correectly with the sound, movies, ect.i spent like 3 days to know how to fix the sound so it will match the movies, but all i get is nothing,so just use Easy Video Spliter.late.
here the site for the free trial:
