Hello,
I'm trying to make perfect backup of movies using DVDXCOPY 1.5.2. (split to 2 dvd) Sometimes it works with no problem but sometimes it burns until about 95% and freezes. It seems to happen when the dvd to burn is bigger than 4GB but I'm not sure. I've tried nashua and philips blank dvd + r. Sometimes I burn a dvd + rw for testing, it works but when I burn a dvd+r, it freezes.
Thanks for help guys :)

Let me guess: You're using FAT-32 instead of NTFS. If you're still on Win 9x/ME then it's time to upgrade, you'll never be able to make it work. If you're on Win2k/XP then make sure you are on NTFS. If not then M$ does include a conversion app with windows so you can convert the drive without loosing data.

Thanks Hakko,
I'm a newbie and I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by FAT32, NFTS and M$ :o
Are you sure it's the source of my trouble ?

FAT & NTFS are filesystems. Check the properties of the HD and you'll find a line that says 'File System: FAT 32'
The point is that FAT-32 is old filesystem used by Micro$oft as standard in Win 9x/ME. The newer system NTFS was created for use with Windows NT, and is the one preferred by Win2000/XP, but these two systems CAN have FAT-32 disks, especially if you upgraded from Win9x/ME to Win2k/XP. The only noticeable difference between the two systems is that FAT-32 can have files as large as 4GB where the limit of NTFS is in the terabyte range IIRC.
I can't read :o : you state that you use Win ME in your first post. In that case, you most definitely have FAT-32 as filesystem and will not be able to pass the 4GB limit until you upgrade to Win XP.

I formated HD and installed WinXP from scratch choosing NFTS in the setup menu. I reinstalled DVDXCOPY but the same trouble happens. It worked one time and froze one time.
