Tried with DVDFab and IfoEdit 2 create video manager-but to no succes.

The easiest solution would be: input your original dvd and copy the two ifo files to your HD again :D

Good idea-thanx
Ive given that DVD to agent 2 have a look-(i act in it,dont laugh),so dont dare to ask it back.I used Media Studio 7 2 convert some parts into DV files 4 my showreel and lost Ifo/Vst files.:-)
So if anyone has some other idea-tell me.
Ive just seen i should have posted in Newbees section, but anyways help if u can.
I know how to convert these Vobs into Main Concept DV and encode with TMPGEnc/TMPGDVDAuthor back 2 DVD-but it takes lot of time and crucilly lotsa space on my HD which i dont have.

Try loading your vob files into dvd-lab. It will demux them to their elementary streams. Then you'll have to reauthor them. But in your original Ifo there will be all kinds of commands that are lost now. It seems to me. All you can do is make a simple movie only backup in which you'll have to insert the chapter points manually (with self made menu maybe). But a full backup without the original ifo files is gonna be difficult (or impossible)

I read on a forum somewhere you could drop the vob into either ifoedit or ifoupdate and it will create ifo and bup files. I would not consider myself even at the level of newbie using either program. Could a person knowledgable in these programs set me strait. :D

yes you can create an ifo with ifoedit. But it will not have the same structure/commands as the original. SO it's possible to get the movie playing that will not be a problem. But getting it to behave exactly as the original and incorporate it into an existing structure (menu/extras) will be something that I think cannot be accomplished very easily (if possible at all)

i tried to create video manager with IfoEdit and DVDFab-it does create ifo file which i was able to load in DVD Shrink and IC 8 but always when i needed to burn it there was some error.
Its quite annoying that i can play Vobs with player from HD but cant compile them and do a normal back up.
DVD is fairly basic,no frills BBC costum drama,no fanncy menus and addons.
I am just trying DVDLAB,demuxing elementary stream-its a bit complicated 2 me.
Ill keep u posted
