Hrm.. its still in alpha, and right now its a cross between Windows XP and Mac OSX. And its certainly not suitable for benchmarking anything ;)

I tryed it few times. I can conclude with that:

1) Slower than XP
2) Buggier than XP
3) Crappier GUI than XP (the new sidebar)

The new FS is a network FS, where files are stored on a SQL server. So your disk will be in NTFS/FAT32 only. WinFS may be usefull for compagnies, but samba already do the *same* job with less ressources :)

1) Its an alpha, all alpha software is slow, buggy crap.

2) Unless you're a member of the Microsoft testing community, what you're doing is illegal.

3) Try using Samba on a 20 Terabyte data server. Not too mention how much faster things like file searching will be

2) I am a member of the Microsoft testing community, but not for that OS :D
3) Try using a SQL server on a 20 Terabyte data server. You'll need at least 512GB of RAM to have it run smoothly and grant access to more than 10 users :) No operating system can handle that... :D

Well, you would cluster it...

Windows versions are reminding me of DOS:

2 --- 3.1
3 --- 98
5 --- 2000
6 --- XP+

With DOS I think they hit the sweet spot at DOS 5. Just like if you are on win2k, do you have great reason to upgrade?

XP whitout themes is a great OS, corporate version :) The NTFS driver is better, but the autorun sucks.

U can disable autorun function using XP Power Toys.
