DVD-lab doesn't support open DVD, so you have to keep the source material for the menus separately. It will be good if at least I don't need to keep the mpg file of the motion menu, and the audio files of the still menu. I can see the and play the motion menu (video) or still menu in, say DVD shrink, but I can't find simple tools to do that. While most tools can extract the movie titles.

Sorry, I found it on the other thread. But before I asked, I actually tried vobedit06. When I open vts 0 and demux, for the few options I tried, I got the complete titles added into one, got the motion video that loop it self when played in realplayer, didn't got sound yet, didn't got the still menus. I couldn't find any guide, and the GUI buttons are not entirely english. Any help?

If I know what is VOBID, I would have already know how to use vobedit.

VOBs are a little missleading:
A VOB is a Video Object and can be the size of the whole DVD.
Although seen as 1 VOB it is usually broken up into 1 Gigabyte pieces.
Inside the VOB there are smaller divisions numbered with ID numbers : Vobu id 1, Vobu id 2, Vobu id 3 etc. This is a usefull division for menu VOBs as all the menus are in one VOB. The VOBUs are also divided into Cells that can be used as Chapter points.

Appreciated the little explanations here and there. It helps a lot to find the right tools and guides.

In the doom9 site, www.doom9.org, there is a useful section about the basics that deserves your reading.

I think u u missing the essence of this forum, being a place to help you understand the difficulties in audio/video manipulation after u have read through the guides and experimented yourself.

odd, u don't understand people. How do I know which guide I should read without reading all the guides?

thats the point. U have to read all the guides. They covering important issues that u have to understand if u want to take active part in what u r doing and not transforming yourself in to pushing-buttons-person in one of the I-do-it-all-for-you programs.

I do understand people and the difficulty that this reading/understanding imposes on them. We will be more than happy to help u and clarify issues that u already have studied and have difficulties to understand.

Don't you understand the world? One click people makes the world go around. You click, you solve the problem and you pay. You have time to play and solve others problems and get paid. Indeed I really want to pay for the new DVD shrink but then it quits after CRC error. I suspect that some disc uses that to offer some sort of protection. Come on, how many read the forum rules?

Well, u may be right about oneclick people but on the other hand I do want to know how things work and how to manupilate them in order to make them work the way I want, whenever ofcourse this is applicable. I don't want to know how a microwave oven actually does its thing cause I don't have the means and tools to play with it, if I did, I would have studied it anyway.

My point is that all the help I am trying to offer here circles around this spirit. Educate people so they can educate others and help the knowledge flow to all directions.

Rules r the basic form of protecting a community from others and its members. Guess where your real life would be without any rules and restrictions. I bet u don't want to live in a ruleless world.

Then again u might argue that this is a virtual world and u don't need rules here too. This is ofcourse one of your rights and I can really do nothing about it.

In this forum we r trying to shape your behaviour so that when u will be wondering to the rest of the fora u have a basic knowledge about things and understand better what other members r talking about.
