No Video in Quicktime Mov

I have been trying to playback a quicktime movie I downloaded but I'm having a few problems. When I playback the file, I get a messagebox telling me that the required video decompressor could not be found. I get the audio OK but no video. I use GSpot to help me when I have these problems with AVIs but it doesn't seem to work with Quicktime.

I am running Windows XP pro and Quicktime 6 with all updates.

Try re-installing with shutdown.And use Media player Classic 6.4.6.5
available on page.doom9's software page (http://www.doom9.org/software.htm#players)

The problems with downloaded files are outside the scope of the help that's given here at Doom9. Any problem that can't be solved quickly becomes a thorn in one's side, but you need to take a look at the Announcement at the top of the Newbies page, and the Forum Rules, again. You can, and will, receive help on any files that lie within the boundaries as laid out in these two documents. Enjoy the forum, you'll get the hang of it quickly. :)
