I have recently occured a file that doesnt display video. It has error downloading from Window Media Player. I ran GSpot in attempt to see what codec it used. It sorta help considering it told me the codecs BUT I dont know which one to get. On name it saids DivX 5 and on 4cc it says DX50/divx. I have the codec for Divx 5 but I dont know what the 4CC is.

Have you tried ffDshow (alpha) (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/)?

You may have DivX 5, but you may not have the right version. Video encoded with DivX 5.0.x would not be readable by video encoded with Divx 5.0.x-1, and this probably also holds true for the latest release, DivX 5.1.
As Hakko mentioned, many people use ffdshow for playback of DivX and other MPEG-4 codecs, instead of having the codecs installed.

K, that however shouldnt be a problem because I have FF Show. Do you think it works when I uninstall Divx 5.0x first before I reinstall FF show?
