Hi all,
I'm using a Targa 3000 to encode to Mpeg2, but the TMW software only puts the 4:3 flag.
I need to place a 16:9 flag in some *.m2v files.
How can I do this?
Thanks
Carlos

You can do it losslessly using pulldown.exe or Darim easy changer or ReStream (all free).

Thanks Matthew.
I've downloaded the Restream and will try it today.
I have this problem with ReelDVD that recognizes if a .mpv is 4:3 or 16:9
I'm starting to use Scenarist and don't know for sure if I can tell the soft "this video IS 16:9!"
Do you also use Scenarist? What can you tell me?
I fell the best way is to generate the elementary .mpv or .m2v with the 16:9 flag.
Thanks
Carlos

I don't use Scenarist (although I do have it installed), but rather Maestro. Have no idea about that sorry,
I'm no expect on technical matters but the aspect ratio is just a flag, so I don't see that using restream would produce an inferior result to setting the flag via the encoder.

Matthew,
I've tryed and seems to work.
I just open the .m2v or .mpv in ReStream, change the aspect from 4:3 to 16:9 and press WRITE.
When I open the new files in ReelDVD, it recognises a 16:9 file.
Seems to be ok. I'm going to create a small project in Scenarist to double check all.
This solves me a big problem. I encode with the Targa 3000 that only creates 4:3 files.
Many, many thanks
Carlos

You can also use Dvdpatcher located on Doom9 web site. And yes scenarist reads the AR flag.
