I live in SA and have to use PAL video standard. However, i cannot find an appropriate driver and software to make this bt848 card work in winxp. Zoltrix have released a beta WDM driver, but this is for NTSC only. I have tried countless driver sets and apps from the net which claim to work ok, but to no avail. The tuner progs never even pick up a channel.

Works fine in Win98 First edition, for which Zoltrix have provided drivers (non-WDM)

Please help as I would like to do some encoding from cable TV:confused:

I have a similar setup, and I use this driver at http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

There is also this driver at http://www.iulabs.com/

The first one is easier to install for me, and I have great success with it, however some tv programs works better with the other driver (I have no idea why), so I still keep it around.

FlyDS works better with the second driver. But for everything else use the first driver.

Feel free to ask any questions if you get stuck ;)

I use the driver from http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

You can use iuvcr from http://www.iulabs.com/ to capture. It has a nice interface and you can tune the channel from there. Depending on your setup you might have some trouble with audio sync when capturing.

I've had better results (syncwise) with virtualvcr, but it is a bit more difficult to tune the channels. You can get it here http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualvcr

My Zoltrix TVMax is quite old already, but I still use it without problems. You just have to set the type of tuner correctly in the driver setup. Mine is the Temic PAL_I (4062 FY5). Yours is probably the same.

Hope this helps.

BTW what OS do you use? If you still use win98 you can also capture with virtualdub or virtualdubmod.

Just a thought.Make sure to enter your country code when tuning the channels. If you do not then not all off your country's channels will be available to the tuner as i found out the hard way.I use satelite tv which is found on channel 230, unless i input my country code only 159 channels are available.
