Suppose you want to subrip a non-encrypted vob set that is on a dvd-r and you don't want to copy the files to your hard drive. How is it possible to disable the creation of an SRM file, which seems to use the same directory that the vob files are on? I am only interested in the srt file.

If you go in SubRip to "Options" -> "General options" and uncheck "Use VOB's subtitle map", SubRip does not produce .SRM files any more.

Thanks Mr. Screw. I'll try that shortly and report back. You have saved my poor hard drive from taking another beating (my Western Digital crashed on so many file copying accesses).

On the same evening: Yup, it works. Now, if only we could re-direct the srm's to another user-specified directory, for those people who still want them.
