Here is what I have....

I have 2 30 minutes movie clips I have shot of my family the video and sound are in mpeg 1 format (I think)

What am looking for...

I want to play it on my stand alone DVD player.... And when I insert the cd it will come up with 2 square still pictures.... and I highlight one or the other, for either show 1 or show 2.

But I also want each show/clip to be split into say.. 3 - 4 minute chapters. What software should I use? What posts should I read? I tried doing a search and feeling totally lost.... if anyone would be willing to help I'd appreciate a lot.

Thanks

here's a link for tscv guide! http://doom9.org/mpg/tscv.htm

With tscv you can do chapters and menus, but it's pretty hard to do complicated menus. Your menu should be easily done.

Alternatively, Nero will do this with a svcd. It will give either a thumbnail and number or just the title of your mpg with a number. It literally takes 5 minutes or less to do it. Very simple drag and drop operation providing your mpgs are in the correct format. If not, it will re-encode them and you would not really want to do that.

VCDEasy is the next step up and would allow you to create a title screen in say photoshop or anything like that. You would put a number in your menu photo and then set VCDEasy to play that particular segment when you pressed it on the remote. It is quite a bit more complicated than Nero, but way less complicated than tscv and it is still actively being worked on. Hope this helps. Goodluck!
