Ok, lets try this,

You have DVD9 and must shrink it to 4.7 GB
If you keep only movie without any extras and menus and with only one audio track, the big question is which transcoder gives you best video quality????
I personally have tried dvd2one 1.3.0, dvdshrink 3 beta 5 and intervideo dvdcopy 1.1 but I cannot decide between dvd2one and dvdshrink.
Has anybody who uses dvd2one compared variable to constant ratio on the same movie?? Which is better?
Does dvdshrink use variable or constant ratio???

Help me!!
I just cannot decide which program to use!

Threads like this are begging to be closed. :D

As unfortunate as it is, and probably due to the flame wars that invariably ensue, it is frowned upon to ask about comparisons that contain phrases such as "which one is best?" or "is product A better than product B?". This is an unfortunate situation, as valuable observations could be posted that could potentially help a person choose which product is right for him, or at least give the newcomer a place to start. I apologize that I can not help you, but I certainly wish that I could. In order to help this thread stay open for as long as possible, I will say no more. :)

@alibegoa
Welcome to the forum! :)
Now, could you rephrase your question? :D

I can give my short answer here. For Movie Only, either tool is probably good to use. For ease of use, DVD2ONE takes less steps than DVDShrink. For quality, if movie is less than 6GB size probably not much difference. For longer movies, you really should do the comparison for yourself, for your critical quality taste, for your personal equipment,...

Hope this helps. Cheers.

first welcome to the forum alibegoa, but please visit this thread http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm

see rule number 12 and the reference about which is 'best'

people will still give opinions but then it evolves into a slanging match, that's probably why the rule is there as it keeps this a happy place unlike some boards I could name :p

I've just replied to a similar which is best thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61434

DVDShrink uses variable and the comparision regarding constant and variable with DVD2One, the 'users only' DVD2One forum will probably have a lot more info about this, but again it really is down to personal preferences etc

so at the end of the day it really is 'best' if you can make your own mind up I suppose and I do hope you see the reasons why :)
