You need a Dvd authoring program. The Video and audio files on a dvd are vob files. There are a numer of programs to do the task. One of the simplist IMO is Tmpg DvdAuthor. Video and audio go in, dvd come out. It will even burn it for you. Btw It is also one of the lowest end products with the least options. Go to the Doom9 web site for excellent tutorials and tips. He also has links to needed software. Spend a little time checking out the info on that page and lurking on the forum including stickies. It will be well worth your while. If a dummy like me can start to get the hang of it anyone can. Do a search for postings by 2cool. He always has something worth checking out and explains it in a simple strait forward manner. He is just one of many. Enjoy!

No, it does not convert avi to dvd. It takes dvd ready mpg2 audio and video and places it in the correct dvd standard. If you look at the files on a dvd, you will see they are labeled with the extension VOB, IFO, BUP. These contain the necessary video, audio and information telling your dvd player how to output it to your television. This is a simplified explanation. The video files must be Mpg. The audio can be wav, ac3, or mp2. There are other methods to convert the avi. If you wish more info either read the tutorials/faqs or search the forum. If you need more help PM me.
