Is this possible? Like, with interlace or something? I know pulldown makes 24fps -> 30 right? But isn't that only for mpeg? Thanks..:scared:

What are you trying to accomplish? What is your source, and what is your target?

If your output is MPEG-4, why change the framerate?

If your output is MPEG-1, VCD supports NTSC FILM at 23.976 fps.

If you are Telecining from 24fps film to NTSC 29.97 fps, then yes, Pulldown.exe will provide that sort of service, though I've only used ith with MPEG-2, and do not know if it will do the same with MPEG-1.

A little more information might get you the answers you desire.

I might be going about this all wrong.

Here is what I want to do..

I have run into this problem many times with videos. It is a mixed source video, with film material in the beginning, and then all interlace material thereafter. I would normally ivtc the film part, and then just deinterlace the interlace part. but then I would be putting that down to 24fps also. is there anyway to play the film part in progressive (which would be 24fps ivtc) and the rest, which is all interlace 29.97. Ahhhhhh :(

No, changing framerates is not really an option, unless you want to keep seperate encodings and queue them in your player.

You should never IVTC content which is truly at 29.97 fps, as you will remove 20% of the content, and end up with jerky movements. My normal method with hybrid content is to leave it at 29.97, using Telecide() to either rebuild telecined frames, or to deinterlace, where not telecined.

I recommend this tutorial on IVTC (www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm) regarding more choices you may have with hybrid content. In addition, it will give you background on interlaced content and field manipulation that you may want to have prior to proceeding.
