I've been using HeAC3che for converting my AC3 files to WAV/MP3 for months now. It works pretty well by allowing my to use DRC for mild compression and normalizing all in one step. I never did like Besweet the last time I checked it out.

While I'm happy with it, I wanted to know if there is anything better out there. I want to downmix my 6-channel AC3 files into a 2-channel format that is Dolby Prologic II encoded, while still sounding good for stereo.

Does such a encoder/decoder exist, whether freeware or retail?

Thanks,
Robert

Besweet is the other major AC3 transcoding software, and I don't think you'll find many other options on this board other then HeadAC3he/ BeSweet. What you described is easy to do with Besweet. What didn't you like about it ?
