View Full Version : Merging multiple MPGs or VOBs

Hello

I am capturing VHS video into AVI files (.avi), then I convert that to MPEG-1. Then I split the .mpg files into video and audio using TMPGEnc, then I use IfoEdit "DVD Author" to create VOB files.

My problem is that I have multiple .mpg files and IfoEdit cannot merge them so I can put them on one DVD. I do not want to waste one DVD for each .mpg/VOB file.

I have used TMPGEnc's option to "merge" the .mpg files into a larger one, then use IfoEdit's "DVD Author" on that .mpg file. But that creates a single VOB file with no chapters and no titles. I would like at least as many titles as there were original .mpg files and perhaps a chapter inserted every 1 or 2 minutes (for example).

Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks

Akis

[edit] IfoEdit can indeed craeate chapters, just note the frame numbers of each chapter starting point in the box marked 'Chapters' at the DVD muxing screen.

Do a search here in the forum. There are several threads that discuss this in detail. If I remember correctly 2COOL has a excellent guide for this. Try a search with him as the keyword:cool:
