:( Hi All,
I have recently upgraded my computer from Win98 to WinXP.
I also have a Pioneer DVD-105s DVD-ROM in it. Under Win98, all DVDs played properly. Now when I try to play a DVD, all I get is sound, no video. I can also boot into Linux on the same machine, where I can get video but no audio.
For Windows, I have installed various DVD/Video playing software e.g. Windows Media Player 9, PowerDVD and some others.
I have the latest codecs and video card drivers (S3 Savage4 chipset on a Diamond brand card - 32M memory). The only thing I haven't done is to try the drive in another computer.
However, does anyone have any ideas what the problem is.

Regards,

Sirber

Problem is very likely that you installed lot of software.
Removing trash in any version of Win is sometimes very difficult, if not impossible.
Perhaps one clean installation will solve your problems - especially if you made upgrade from W98.
