Hi,

i have tried to get some SVCDs on a DVD-R with medium success :-)

ok i have done the following things:

- merged 2 SVCDs with TmpEnc
- split and encode audio (Besweet)
- patched the horizont resolution form 480 to 352 with DVDPatcher(whole file)
- generate an an DVD with TmpEnc DVD Author
- patched the resulting vobs back to 480

so far so good, Power DVD played well
but my standalone Toshiba splitt the screen
horizontal

top: half of my svcd video
bottom: green or black blank screen

what was the mistake?
The player played svcds with 480 resoulution

thx for help

Not all standalone players are capable of playing back svcd-dvd-r's.

Although your player plays svcd at this resolution fine this is no guarantee for success. Your player reads it as being a dvd and expect it to be compliant to this standard.

are there any workarounds out there?

Rencode them to dvd standart, fastest way ?

Maybe TempEnc batch with right resolution ?

Thx for any good idea

Reencoding will certainly fix it, but will take time ofcourse.

To be sure if it's your player that's causing the problem you can try the disc on an other player as well maybe?
