The question's in the title, gentlemen..er..gentlepersons.

I was capturing a TV series today with VirtualVCR. Suddenly, the program crashed and I had to restart the capture, losing about 30 seconds of the show. I tried to open the first clip after the show had ended and the capturing finished but I couldn't get it to work. VDubMod doesn't want to open it directly or via AviSynth.

Is there anything I could try to get the clip working? I'm quite sure it's just some header or similar that is missing.

Try to 'steal' header from one valid capturing with same parameters.

With some hex editor...

Tried that, and it proved to be too complicated. The header part seems to be quite big and I was very unsure where it began and where it ended:mad: I tried DivFix as well but it wouldn't recognise the file as AVI at all, just as VDubMod.

I ended up deleting the file, fortunately it was only five minutes of the complete episode.
