View Full Version : 2 Streams, 1 IFO, 1st stream 4:3 to 16:9, 2nd stream should stay 4:3 --> How?

Hi!

I have made 2 captures with my Snazzi-card and I am planning to author these onto a DVD-R. I do not need any menus, the 2nd clip is supposed to
start playing once the 1st stream has been played.

For authoring I used Ulead VideoStudio. The problem I have, is that the 1st stream is in 16:9, although it is now being recognized as 4:3. The other stream should stay in 4:3. Ulead Videostudio creates the both streams so that there is only 1 IFO. Therefore I cannot do the aspect-ratio change with IFOEdit, otherwise it would probably affect the
2nd stream as well.

Because of any possible audio/video -sync issues I would like to use Videostudio for authoring. Is there any simple way, how I could manage to do the changes to the aspect ratio (i.e. 1st clip into 16:9) as I have planned?

Thank you for any help,

Your 1st stream is 16:9 or 4:3 letterboxed? I have read that videostudio would produce 2ifos in case of different aspect ratios.

It should be 16:9, but as it is a TV-capture, it's in 4:3 (displayed as anamorphic). I would like to make the setting that when displayed with a
DVD-player that has the option "put to tv in letterbox form", it would know how to squeeze the picture.

I don't use dvdstudio, so I can't help you in detail. Perhaps u can force it to build them in 2 different vts sets and thus set the ar of each one to the correct value.

If not u have to change authoring tool. DVDlab, Tmpg Author r cheap and fit your needs nicely. Both of them can handle your situation.

Ok, turns out that DVD-Shrink reauthors into 2 IFO:s. Problem should now be solved with IFOEdit.
