Hi
Im wanting to resize a current divx I have, as the resolution or aspect ratio it has been encoded in isnt right and I want to resize it into widescreen.
How can I do this in the easiest and quickest way?
I dont just want it to resize on screen when it is being played I want it to be physically resized, if you get what i mean.
Thanks
Mark

Check Doom9's guides (http://www.doom9.org) on VirtualDub and Gordian Knot.
The easiest way is of course to open the AVI in VirtualDub, Add a resize filter, configure the Codec you wish to use, set the audio to 'Direct Stream Copy' and then save the AVI again. Then you must wait a while while the AVI is re-encoded, which may take a while - and you'll most likely lose some quality in the process, but hey, it's your choise. Leaving the AVI as is and resize while playing is a better alternative.

just didn't do anything? perhaps you can tell us the exact settings. there's almost no reason this shouldn't work...
perhaps you just put it in your joblist instead of saving directly?!
any other techniques?
avisynth, etc - much more complicated though!

ah sorry i forgot, it did actually resize the problem was that the sound was no longer there and i am 100% certain I used "source audio" and "direct stream copy"
there was sound for the first 5 seconds and then it just went off?

what sort of audio is it?? vb3/cbr mp3? ac3?
perhaps you did a two pass encode and therefore got vdub confused with the audio. if so, try demuxing the audio, encoding the vid seperately and then remuxing the whole thing.
