ive gone step by step through the guide on conversions for avi->dvd (excluding the subtitles sections)using cce. i did both passes and it creates a mpv file. it says to rename it to *.m2v so that authoring prgrams can handle it. now im at nero (per the nero burning guide :http://www.doom9.org/mpg/nero-dvdburn.htm) andi dont have any *.ifo/*.vob files. im stuck with the audio (*.ac3 file) and the *.mpv/*.vaf/*.prv files that cce created. im going crosseyed looking at this thing, so if you could nudge me along in the right direction, all help would be welcome.

btw, with SpruceUp i get error: Illegal Picture Resolution for DVD video. ??? (i used pulldown.exe which i thought was suppost to take care of that?) thanks again!

again, when i used besliced on the ac3 audio to remove the wav header, nothing happened. it pulled up an empty log and created no file?

What u have created, a video and an ac3 audio is the main ingridients for authoring a dvd. The guide u r reffering to assumes that u already have authored the dvd and u have a working VIDEO_TS folder ready to be burnt. U r a step away, where u r standing from, for aquiring a working video_ts folder.

A simple and freeware solution is ifoedit. Read the guide on authoring with ifoedit (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-dvdauthor.htm) and u will end up having a video_ts to burn with nero.

If u ask me I would recomend another program to burn your dvds with. Instant CD/DVD is a good candidate, fully compatible, never let me down. Write mode of decrypter and imgtools r an excellent choice too.

thanks for the reply!

i tried ifoedit. when i start it, it wants me to point it towrds an ifo file. all i have are the m2v/ac3 files? is there another program to make these? what program do i use to join the video/sound to creat vob files?

about spruceup, i still get the incorrect dimension error, but nero will open it. nero wont however open the ac3 even after i removed the wav header....

No!

ifoedit 0.95 has an DVD authoring option that u may select if u haven;t opened any ifo. In this u can select your audio, video and properly prepared subs for it to mux and build for u a video_ts folder. They r all explained in the guide.

@hummus19

I'm assuming you are new to reading threads. The word "ifoedit" in oddyseus's post, which is in red, is actually a link to the guide. You were suppose to click on that.
