HuffYUV compresses each field separatly. So he has to know, how many Lines a field has. (simplyfied Description)

As far as I understand this setting, it is the number of lines above which huffyuv assumes you are capturing both fields.

If you are capturing at lower resolutions, say 352 x 288 (pal) and you set the treshhold to 288 huffyuv will know not to try to treat the frame as two separate fields.

So
for PAL that would be 576 / 2 = 288
for NTSC that would be 480 / 2 = 240

What version of huffyuv has field options? I've got the newest version AFAIK and it doesn't have any settings that even resemble "field threshold". I can however, configure my capture device to 640x480 or 640x320 resolution (source is NTSC broadcast via S-Video). As an aside one of the reason this piqued my interest is I seem to capture alot of blended fields.

Thanks

Huffyuv 0.2.2 CCE patch.

It has a few extra settings. AFAIKR the previous version also handles frames separately, but had the treshold fixed on 288. Since this works for poth full PAL and NTSC, it is not really an issue.

You kan download it from the download section here on Doom9

Thanks a ton for the heads-up... I've been searching high and low for that for days now.
