I'm looking for a DVD authoring ap while will create menus similar to the way Nero does for SVCD.

Specifically, I'd like a background image and a list of chapter points which will be the filenames of the source files. Generated menus need to spawn however many screens are needed to fit the entire list with, say, 9-12 entries per page.

Also, it needs to handle drag-n-drop SVCD source, automatically upsampling the audio and doing the header tweaks.

Please correct me if I am wrong, it is my understanding DVD-Lab does not provide this type of menu creation but it does do the stream operations. Ulead's DVD ap will do the menus but chokes on non-standard streams.

What ap will do this sort of thing?

The intended application is to convert a huge amount of SVCD source to DVD with a consistent look and feel to the menus.

i don't use both (looked at dvd-lab once). WHy don't you use dvd-lab to demux your streams and then import those into Ulead?

From what i've seen from DVDlab it should be possible to create very simple menus though.

Also take a look at tmpgenc dvdauthor

Well, come to think of it, maybe somehow automating SVCD2DVDMPG is really what I'm looking for, a way to batch create DVD-tricked and resampled version of SVCD source...

Don't know if Ulead will choke on that...
