View Full Version : Nero 6 Messed up mpeg1?

Today i decided to try out nero 6 (used v6.0.0.15) and after i installed all my mpeg1 files vcd and others are strangely stretched a bit wider..!! in both media players that xp provides but not in media player classic. All my avi files are as they should be. lol iduno what happend... but i tryed uninstalling nero and nothing changed then since i was gonna soon anyway i just formated C: and reinstalled xp and its still the same!! :mad:

any ideas anyone?

AFAIK Nero 6 installs its own MPEG1/2/4 direct show filter. It has somehow a higher priority than the Windows built-in MPEG-1 codec. But this is definitely gone if you reinstall your XP on a clean partition. I will try to look into this.

Regarding MPC: It uses in latest versions its own MPEG-1 and -2 decoder. You can enable/disable it in the options->filters tab.

But you also installed Nero 6 after your clean install?

If so, the MPEG direct show filter gets installed nevertheless.

i havnt installed nero after the clean install
i have no clue why its doing this lol but its gay :angry:

is there a way to reinstall the windows filters

tryed installing wmp9 to see it that would help.. no dice

another clean install.. all i installed was graphics drivers and its still the same :confused: :confused:

Can't you open it in Graphedit to see what dshow filters are used to play it?
