View Full Version : Re-Author when you have two or more PGCs

I use a quick method for adding subtitles:
1. Vobedit for Demux
2. SubRip for extracting subtitles
3. Srt2Sup for making the sup format subs
4. IFOedit for Reauthor
5. IFOupdate to keep the menu

It works just fine for movies with only one PGC.
But I was recently introduced to Matrix Reloaded. It has 2 PGCs.
Is there a way to make IFOupdate work, even though the new authored VOBs have only one PGC?
Is it perhaps possible to make 2 PGCs with IFOEdit?

Is there perhaps another quick method for adding subs, but with the possibility for more PGCs.
I tried a method with Maestro, but it takes at least 4 times as long.
If I could only import sup to Maestro or Scenarist...

PS: When are we going to see a utility when you will be able to edit VOBs directly. At least for subs;)

Just on the subtitles issue, SubRip supports the .son/bmps format which can be directly imported in Maestro. Similar deal with Scenarist. So I'm not sure why you find subtitle import a problem, or perhaps I have misunderstood. Incidentally, I've found using vsrip.exe/vsconv.exe more accurate than using SubRip on the ripped vobs (from memory SubRip is up to 7 frames off, although that is less than a third of a second).

Official release in the UK is October but there's been a PAL DVD-R copy floating around on the binary newsgroups for about a month now. It has the movie, menus and scene selection but no special features. The image quality is amazing and there's no nasty black and white scenes or piracy warnings.

Don't think so - you need to use an authoring program like DVD Maestro or Scenarist to create valid IFO files. I remember trying to add PGCs to IFO files but found you end up just 'butchering' the movie structure. Have you tried The Big 3 for conversions - it demuxes, rips & converts subs and reauthors with just a couple of button presses.
