hey guys,

first of all i would like to say that DoItFast4U, DoCCE4U & ReAuthorist are da shit.. they have made my life so much easier (:

the autodetect ntsc video type option in DoItFast4U is also very useful but i found out it doesn't always pick the most useful settings..

i had this 29,97 fps interlaced ntsc source which DoItFast4U chose to do with the decomb filter resulting in blurry motion on standalone playback..

that made me wonder in which cases it's better to chose the settings by hand..

any thoughts on that?

thnx in advance

actually the blurry effect isnt an error on DIF4U's part...
whenever you deinterlace you will get the blurry effect which can be quite annoying...my suggestion is NOT to deinterlace since you CANT see the combing effect in a TV anyways.

there's thousands of threads on this subject...do a search

so it's best to encode interlaced sources interlaced?

i personally don't de-interlace - it looks like shit

Does that differ with PAL interlaced material then cos the only way I can get rid of that ghosting affect when watching on TV is to deinterlace (PAL DVD extras)although when I deinterlace I get weird black and white distortion around fast motion scenes

I always deinterlace the Pal extras. The result is much better then when I leave it interlaced.

By adding field deinterlace to your avs script
