Hi People, i have a doubt with the total size of a movie (video + audio + overhead) and B-Frames.

If i "turn on" B-frames in Xvid, the size of the movie is less than gordian knot shows me when the encoding ends.
Example = Encoding a large movie (3:00) in 2 CDs it should be 1350 mb more less, but using B-Frames the total size i have is 1200 mb. The quality is great, but i think is a waste of space in CD.

How can i know aprox. the total size using B-Frames ??? When is better using B-Frames , when i have low % in the comprensibility check or high % ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi-

See if this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24584) is your problem. You can know in advance the total file size by running a compression test before doing the encoding.

In Doom9's Gknot guide (http://www.doom9.org/gknot-main4.htm), you'll find the compressibility test for Xvid described in Step 2. (http://www.doom9.org/gknot-main4.htm).

sorry, i thought "compression test" is no the same than compressibility test, but itīs :) Every is fine, i dunno but with B-Frames looks better, but also gives me higher brightness. Anyway i can fix it, i think...

Thanks for the help!
