Till now I have been using ReAuthorist to make the scenarist script, and I know few about using scenarist (from Trilight's UberGuide).
Well most DVDs at the root menu have links like "Start movie", "Subtitles", "Options", etc (stuff that you want your copied DVD to also have in its menu), and "Extras" or "Extra Features" (stuff you don't want). My question is this:
Is it possible to do some changes when you are on Scenarist, so that when you click the link for the extras to display a screen "This selection has been removed..."?Till now, when you deselect them in Reauthorist it doesn't remove the whole Extras' menu but just replaces every item with a dummy. I would like to know if the way to modify it in Scenarist is easy, so that I don't have to begin Scenarist advanced education!Well to be honest, the best thing would be to just remove the link (Extras button) from the menu, but I don't think that's doable, even if you go deep into scenarist world(is it?).
Any thoughts?

Well to answer your questions:

Is it possible to do some changes when you are on Scenarist, so that when you click the link for the extras to display a screen "This selection has been removed..."?

It's not possible to modify the menu jump/links (except if you want to take apart the whole menu). But it's possible to get a screen that says section removed. Just import your reauthorist script with the dummies you mention. Create a bmp/jpg with says section removed and drag it into scenarist. Then drag this to the track editor. When asked set it to be a slide show (default time is 10 secs, if you want to change this do this in the track editor).

Now on the scenario tab locate the dummies wich where created from the reauthorist script and delete those. After that drag your self created track to it.

Well to be honest, the best thing would be to just remove the link (Extras button) from the menu, but I don't think that's doable, even if you go deep into scenarist world(is it?).

There's an application called menuedit which does exactly what you want: make menu buttons inactive. The this section has been removed option is somewhat more elegant though, since you keep your DVD structure like it is.

I know that I can drop a dummy still to that VTS/PGC, but what I mean is that:
Let's take a menu that has the links "Start movie", "Scene Selection", "Video and Sound options", "Subtitles" and "Bonus Material". Well I want to keep intact the first 4, but I want to get rid of the bonus material (trailers,etc.).If I do it with Reauthorist, it will keep the submenu that is linked to "Bonus Material", so it will display a new screen that has "Trailers","Interviews",etc, and if you click one of these, then it will just return(dummy video,by Athorist). What I 'd prefer is that as soon as I click "Bonus mAterial", some screen like "selection removed..."to appear.
The DVD has 11 VTSs.The first 3 are warnings and logos, the 5th is the menu(with one PGC),the 4th is the movie, and the rest are extras. So, in Scenarist there is no submenu for the screen that appears when I click "Bonus Material"(the whole menu is VTS_5),so I can't place a dummy there (since the menu is VTS_5 single-PGC).
I 'll check out MenuEdit. Though if anyone knows are there any compatibility issues about it?

if you want to change the navigation you'll have to reauthor the menu. That can be a lot of work and i don't know if it's worth it

You are probably right, what I've seen so far reading scenarist tutorials make it very time-consuming.On the other hand I 've downloaded menuEdit and it seems to be what I've been looking for. Thanks for the tip.Though,if anyone knows if the file that menuEdit alters is then fully compatible and functional with standalones,it would be great.Anyway the program seems to be really something, I'm suprised I hadn't heard of it before. Thanks again
