Is there any way to force an I-Frame at certain spots (like the start of chapters)? Or even better, to specify a chapter file and have it done automatically? I'm using XViD.

There's a mention of an app that might be of interest in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60952). I don't know if the app as written would be compatible with XviD, as I haven't used it.

Hi-

Ordinarily keyframes are set at the beginning of chapters. But if you have a fade-in, then maybe they won't be. But Koepi's Stats Reader can generate new Keyframes from the stats file. It comes with all his XviD versions. Get his latest 24062003-1 version from here, install it, and then grab the Stats Reader out of it:

But it won't be done automatically.

Edit later: There's another way to add keyframes to the stats file. Go to the Options Tab of GKnot and uncheck "Hide Advanced Tabs" (thanks len0x). Then open the Nandub Files Tab (works for XviD Stats files also) and open your stats file. It'll take you to the Stats File Editor Tab where you can add keyframes and a do bunch of other stuff also.

But only if the chapter begins with a scene change, right? Some chapters begin in the middle of a scene.

Thanks! I'll try that out.

Hi-

Gee, I didn't know that. I thought that by definition a new chapter indicated a major scene change.

However, I may have to backtrack on setting new keyframes in a stats file. According to sysKin in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61045), which I discovered after writing the previous post, you can't set keyframes using Koepi's Stats File Reader when you're using B-Frames. I don't know about the Stats File Editor in GKnot, though. The only way to be sure is to try, I guess.
