I bought a LG Flatron F700B monitor a few days back. The problem is that when I open a window, the Windows desktop seems to enlarge, as the
icon on the left slide more one the left, and the right one more to the right. It is more noticeable when I open a window (which is light colored) on a dark background. This is very anoying. I took the monitor back and they gave me a new one, but I have the same problem. I also tried the monitor on a different computer, but the problem is the same.

Is this a common problem?

I also find that aligning the monitor 100% is not possible. The top part of the screen have a slightly concave black border. This results in all the "straight" lines to be slightly concave.

Sounds like a problem with the high voltage stability under load change. Try switching from a black window to a white one or vice versa, the effect should be even more pronounced there.
Apparently it is a design fault in this case ... but then again, this ia a 17" display for 140 Euros, so what do you expect :)? You might have to invest slightly more to get a higher quality screen.

Hmm,we're distributing tons of those (indeed crapy quality) monitors, but I never seen anything like this in none of them, IMO either you've got 2 faulty monitors in a row (rare) or you have some probs with your hardware\software setup.

Can anyone suggest a good 17" or 19" crt monitor - not flatscreen. I try to read reviews on the internet, but no consensus.

I'll be glad for first-hand experience.

Thanks
