interlaced probs

When doing a backup this way and the source is interlaced I get distortion around the edges of objects in the film when adding
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\DoItFast4U\new.avs\decomb.dll")
FieldDeinterlace(blend=false)

To my avs script. Is there something that I am doing wrong?

play around with the parameters:

but the buttomline is, it's hard to get perfect result with deinterlace and that's why a lot of people simply don't do it.

if you plan on watching the dvd on a standard tv vice a computer monitor then i wouldn't deinterlace since the combing effect isn't seen on a tv - plus deinterlacing looks crappy to me.
