I want to do the button over video feature. I'm using Scenarist 2.7 and have reauthored the menus and features completely, therefore I have full control over the project.
I've created 2 subtitle tracks in the main movie, the first containing english subs, plus an empty dummy sub at the exact place the button over video should appear (I will only use 1 button, to link to another documentary). The second subtitle track have a different language and contains the real button with forced start. I've created the button and set the correct colours and those things.
The documentary is in 4:3 so I use FIRST PGC, GPRM settings and dummy tracks to link to another VTS.
The problem occurs when I arrive at the point the button appear, it appears in display mode, but won't highlight, no matter what I try. This works in simulation (when simulating from first PGC, and working my way throught the entire project, so that I don't miss some of the GPRM/SPRM settings).
I tried to set a set highlight button in the pre command of the main movie, but that didn't help anything.

Anyone got any idea what the problem might be?

Ok, its a bit early for me, so if im missing something entirely im sorry. I assume simulation mode is using the simulation window and pressing the software simulation button. But, what do you mean by "display mode"? If you mean any other mode in scenarist by display mode, then thats why it doesnt highlight the buttons. Buttons are only activated and usable in simulation mode, its as simple as that.

To test more thoroughly though you could compile the project and test with windvd/powerdvd. That would give a more accurate picture on weather its working or not.

But maybe you mean the same thing by display and simulation modes. And the highlighting isnt working in simulation. If thats the case, check your selection colors in the colors drop down on the "Subpicture and Highlight" tab of the sim window.

By display mode I mean that the subtitle track doesn't appear in highlight mode, but with the display colour instead of highlight colour, thus, it won't highlight...
