View Full Version : Howto: long MPEG2 to DVD recording (w DRU510A)

I recently bought my first DVD+/-RW. I used to make DVD backups with DVD2SVCD, but I would now like to burn SVCD MPEG2 files to a DVD.

The program that comes with my SONY DRU510A is Sonic MyDVD, but this program only accepts video files from max 60 minutes. The MPG file that I have is about 90 minutes. I made it as follows:
- I copied the MPG files from 2 SVCD disc's,
- I merged them into 1 MPEG2 file (with TMPGenc) - 1.4 GB
- I used TMPGenc to convert to 720x578 resolution - 3.4 GB

Now I want to burn this file to a DVD. What solutions are there?

(PS: I looked at SVCD2DVDMPG, but I hesitate to download the .NET framework of >20MB).

Try tmpgdvdauthor It has a 30 day trial period (or any other DVD authoring program such as spruceup, dvdlab, maestro, scenarist)
